Job Overview 

You will be responsible for the design and implementation of the software that enables the next generation biometric devices, modules, and systems.  This will include full life-cycle, starting at concept and continuing through specification, design, bring up, debug, test, and release to production.

Reporting

This role reports to the VP, Head of Software and Co-Founder of Identity Devices.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design, document, implement or modify ID software components related to both fingerprint and iris products.

  • Secure stability and competitiveness of product configuration via optimizing implementations and performance.

  • Manage requirements including change requests and assist system design function to break the requirements down and do detailed design work.

  • Assist project and product management function to plan and follow up plan by estimating work effort of assigned tasks as well as proactively reporting status and deviations to plan as well as providing corrective actions if needed.

  • Be responsible to find and drive investigations and improvements within all areas concerning assigned software components.  

  • Be involved in all technical aspects of assigned software components during a products lifetime. 

  • Be able to represent software and system integration function in technical discussions with other areas.

  • Support customers related issues to assigned software components (remotely and on-site).

  • Work standalone or in group to achieve overall study or product targets.

  • Participate and encourage colleagues in innovations and possible patent filing.

  • Stay informed about industry practices and technical development.

  • Advise in customer requirements discussions in own technical domain.

  • Drive improvement activities.

Qualifications & Expected Behaviors

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree within relevant area or equivalent work experience.

  • Worked as a high-level software developer for at least five years.

  • Experienced in writing TDD with common TDD framework.

  • Architectural design experience. 

  • Excellent Linux, Android and TEE development level experience.

  • Experienced in debugging with and without debugging tools.

  • Proficient in Script development.

  • Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures.

  • Be perceived as a specialist in at least one technical domain.

  • Required language proficiency: C, C++, Java/Android

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluent in English​.

  • Windows development experience.

  • Bonus language proficiency: C#, .NET, Python

  • Experience from international relations/working abroad, etc.

  • 10+ years of engineering or technical SW management experience
